The New and Renewed Tatewari. Better than ever!

Hot news!  Summer is no exception! Tatewari returned to Puerto Vallarta this winter at Cuates y Cuetes every Monday evening at 8:30 PM beginning December 9 and continues even during the summer months. Since crowds are smaller you can enjoy the intricacies of their wonderful flamenco creations with the intimacy a small crowd offers. See some new videos below.

Don't miss their exciting show!

A friend and I attended one of Tatewari's first performances of the last season at the inauguration of the beautiful upper terrace of a favorite Pizza and Pasta Bar in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle called Falconi. It was incredible! The fellows, Esau Galvan, Dani Marquez and Gary Flores--all such talented musicians--have a great collection of new music and revised favorites for us to enjoy. We were blown away! Here is a taste of the music to tempt you. Meanwhile, follow here for more performances both in La Cruz and Puerto Vallarta. You will be happy you did.

This season has seen many  performances by Tatewari here in Puerto Vallarta, at times with a new friend from Barcelona, Carlos Nuñez. They have also played with palomazos by Mairead O'Grady on percussion. The crowd goes  wild! Such incredible music right here in our front yard. Hear them Monday evenings at 8:30 at Cuates y Cuetes!

If you love music, especially Spanish Guitar, you should check out master flamenco guitarist Esaú Galvan and the talented musicians of Tatewari. Esaú Galván (esaugalvan.com) on guitar and Dany Márquez on bass have been friends since childhood and a great percussionist from Puerto Vallarta, Gary Flores rounds out the group along with special invited guests. This group enchants audiences with fiery flamenco and gypsy guitar music, much of it original compositions by Esaú Galván, on a regular basis at venues in Puerto Vallarta and their home town La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

Tatewari completed their 4th CD during the summer of 2018, released on their 12th Anniversary as a group. Their anniversary concert was held at Octopus' Garden (Jardin del Pulpo) in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle on November 22. They had a total of 5 concerts scheduled in their home town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle the past season, all of them sold out events.

The group introduced their new CD to Puerto Vallarta fans at a spectacular show at Incanto Vallarta cabaret theater on the Cuale River (Insurgentes Bridge) on December 8 of that year--a wonderful show with a great and enthusiastic audience! They held several other great shows at Incanto with invited guest Perla Alarcon and continued to entertain Puerto Vallarta fans at Incanto Cabaret Theater on alternate Tuesdays during the 2019-2020 season.

Tatewari also played regularly at the beachfront cafe Cuates y Cuetes next to the pier in the Romantic Zone until the pandemic curtailed their visits. Since then the band has rarely performed together but we hope that will change in the near future.

Esaú Galván frequently performs solo and in 2019, with renowned Bavarian born flamenco guitarist Wolfgang "Lobo" Fink at several venues including Incanto and Babel Bar. He has produced CDs with Lobo and just recently released a solo CD that a pleasure to own..

There are numerous informative articles about the group on this website under Articles for Vallarta Paper, PV Mirror and Vallarta Tribune. I have recently added a very nice interview (in Spanish) by Diego Mondragon as part of his new series "Tell Me Your Story" on youtube with Esaú. At the end of the video Esaú introduces a wonderful piece he is just adding to his repertoire. For this video he is joined by the outstanding violinist Mondragon making for a marvelous presentation. See below!
Very nice Interview by Diego Mondragon, followed by presentation of La Cartuja writen by Gerardo Nuñez. Performed by Esaú Galvan joined by Diego Mondragon on violin.
