When the sun sets over Banderas Bay, it's time to make your plans to savor a delicious meal and listen to exceptional music. There are several places that I particularly like because they offer music from my favorites.

My favorite is definitely Cuates Y Cuetes located next to the pier or wharf in Zona Romantica. The owners here are huge music fans and recruit the best bands every evening and often during the day. Every year Doña Tete hosts a wonderful jazz festival on the beach and attracts talented musicians from all over the area. They perform on the beach all afternoon and evening. It takes place every year on March 21 of each year.

Bands like Media Luna, Alex Martinez Gil, Sam Davalos and Nacho Flores are regulars at this place. It is a friendly and active place where people can watch the sunset but also listen to music and people watch. They also serve tasty food at reasonable prices.

Unfortunately one of my very favorites, Incanto, closed this year maybe to be revived in the future but we really miss them!

The River Cafe is not only a great restaurant in a very scenic location overlooking the Rio Cuale, it also has live music in the evenings, including Raul Simental and Oscar Terrazas on Sax, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.

If you're up the coast I recommend the Tree House Bar and Grill at Coral 68 in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, a vibrant outdoor atmosphere with a giant Huanzcaxtle tree and wonderfully friendly owners for live music and dining. Alfredo Jimenez has been active in bringing new talent to La Cruz from  Puerto Vallarta and beyond to entertain audiences in southern Nayarit. Tatewari performed there frequently, as well as other renowned artists from the Puerto Vallarta area.  See this years schedule at this link in an article for Banderas News by Debbie White:  https://banderasnews.com/the-tree-house-bar-grill-is-one-of-the-north-shores-gems/
